We are currently looking to fill the position of* Meter Tester Helper.*Note: This is a temporary position with an expected end date of December 21, 2022Accountabilities: You will be responsible for shipping, receiving, and cleaning meters and other related equipment. You will maintain stock records, use various computer applications (CIS, Excel, and SharePoint), assist meter testers and keep work areas organized and clean. You must be familiar with NSPI’s metering Quality Assurance program, ensuring consistently high-quality product is being provided to our customers both internal and external.You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the Environmental Management System processes and initiatives.Skills, Capabilities and Experience: You have a Grade XII education or equivalent and should be detail oriented. You must be willing to learn the applicable QA standards and technical procedures and successfully complete an evaluation. You should be comfortable with the applicable software applications. Forklift experience and knowledge of meter types and testing methods would be an asset.This position is considered a safety sensitive position. As such, the successful candidate must comply with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Policy which requires a confidential pre-employment alcohol and drug test in accordance with the Emera Alcohol and Drug Procedure.You have strong interpersonal skills along with demonstrated oral and written communication skills and have the physical capabilities to perform all duties related to Meter Tester Helper Position.Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Must be able to frequently lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height with occasionally being required to lift to 77 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift to 25 lbs. above shoulder height and carry 44-77 lbs. with one or two hands
  • Ability to use whole body weight to either push or pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Occasionally perform static reaching from waist to overhead
  • Occasionally perform bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, stair climbing with neck flexion, extension, and rotation
  • Possess the ability to constantly stand and walk for the duration of shift
