CanadaThe RoleThe Information Technology Support technician will provide hands-on technical on-site support for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and networks. This position will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support of a diverse infrastructure environment. The technician will provide permanent solutions and ensures application integrity. Furthermore, the individual role involves providing training and support to primary users.This is an entry level position and will require a passionate and dedicated individual who is willing to learn new things and grow in a global organization. The individual must be friendly and well-mannered as he/she will interact with a lot of people daily.Core Competencies

Accountabilities
  • Provide Service Desk technical support to users either via phone, email or live chat as required.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for all types of technical inquiries, service requests, and issues involving computers, network, smartphones/tablets, AV systems, enterprise applications/systems.
  • Contribute to team innovation through ideas for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and/or participate in the preparation knowledge base articles and/or documentation for Service Desk use; make recommendations for improvements.
  • Document all problems and solutions in the Service Desk Tracking System.
  • Build relationships with customers.
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies within a large systems environment by working closely with the project team.
  • Documents complex and troubleshooting procedures related to systems software and hardware.
  • Understands how all systems and applications within the infrastructure stack relate to business needs and applications and provide 1st level IT Operations support.
  • Works with and provides technical guidance to Business Applications support, 3rd party vendors and consultants.
  • Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software.
  • Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
  • Troubleshoot workstation related application issues, including operating system issues.
  • Assist in network related activities.
  • Assist in regular support related tickets
  • Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
  • Provide individual training and support on request
  • Intranet/website configuration and design
  • Maintain a log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance activities
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and provide permanent solutions
Education/Experience
  • A minimum of college diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on work experience. A university degree is a huge advantage.
  • 2 years working experience in providing IT Application, Network Infrastructure and Systems support.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building.
  • Ability to clearly communicate over email and phone.
  • Special consideration will be given to hands-on experience in Microsoft Technologies particularly Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Cisco networking equipment, VMWARE, Unix, Linux, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Storage attached Networks, Backup Solutions and Cloud Technologies.
  • Experience working in Microsoft 365 Administration portal environment and Azure environment.
  • Good knowledge of Database Server maintenance and administration.
  • Basic Scripting Proficiency – Windows PowerShell scripting
  • Familiarity with business intelligence visualization tools will be an asset.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Power Platform will be a plus.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is an asset
