We currently have the following opportunity available out of Stouffville, Ontario,location.Position Name Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) AdvisorJob Code HSEQA-012022Department HSEQ Division (Ontario)# of Positions 1Closing Date January 17, 2022Working Conditions Combination of remote and onsiteJob OverviewThe HSEQ Advisor is the subject matter expert providing sound advice, guidance and support to business unitsrelated to Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental programs. This position is responsible for a variety ofinitiatives including but not limited to the development, implementation and maintenance of health andsafety policies, procedures, and injury prevention programs, WSIB and disability claims management andproviding recommendations and advice to the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JOHSC).Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and revise programs and procedures associated with environment, health, safety
and quality systems and facilitates action plans throughout the organization
  • Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and risk assessments as required
  • Conduct, support and participate in incident investigation
  • Leads, manage and/or support multiple assignments and associated projects including those that involve internal
and external resources and stakeholders
  • Completes analysis and verify that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and are safe for use.
  • Ensures that all documents used in health and safety programs are in keeping with best practices, legislations
change and are completed accurately by crew members and submitted on time.
  • Assist with the development of Health and safety documentation for construction projects (e.g. critical lift plans,
Project specific H&S plan and other client requested documentation.
  • Conduct data analysis, prepare various reports proposal and recommendation
  • Liaise with Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MoLTSD) for reporting requirements, issued
orders, work refusals, complaints, and investigations
  • Deliver quality and on time completion of health and safety projects that drives continual improvements in
processes, systems, technological changes, and methodology.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable safety and environment legislation and participate in emergency
response activities
  • Manage and update client subcontractor management systems (e.g., ISNetworld & Avetta)
Qualifications and Requirements
  • University degree or diploma related in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field
and/or a combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in environmental, health, safety, or industrial hygienist related
work
  • Completion or working towards a Certified Utility Safety Professional Designation (CUSP) and/or National
Construction Safety Officer (NCSO).
  • Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience in interpretation and application of Occupational Health
and Safety Act (OSHA), MoLTSD and MoECP practices and procedures, and other related legislations andregulations
  • Knowledge of Environmental protection act and application for utility construction will be an asset.
  • Experience with ISNetworld, Avetta or other client subcontractor management system is required
  • Experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 auditing techniques and practices and/or leading auditing initiatives
is an asset. Auditor certification is preferred
  • In-depth understanding of Utility construction policies and practices and other governmental regulations and
bylaws pertaining to utility equipment and personnel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Disability case management and WSIB experience is a strong asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade others
  • Valid G class drivers license is required
