MaintenanceDepartment: Sun Parlor HomeLocation: Leamington, OntarioPosition Type: Permanent Part TimeOpening Date: January 14, 2025Closing Date: January 31, 2025Who We Are:For over 100 years the Sun Parlor Home has been offering long term care to the community of Essex County. Our Mission is “to serve our community by providing supportive resident-focused care that promotes quality of life.” As a not-for-profit municipally owned and subsidized long-term care home, with 206 beds, all of our resources are dedicated to our residents.Leamington, Ontario, located on the north shore of Lake Erie, provides a thriving diversity of urban and rural experiences. Weather, proximity to major centres (Windsor and Detroit) and an extremely affordable cost of living add to Leamington’s charm.Day in the Life:

  • Preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Emergency repairs to plumbing, equipment and machinery
  • Collection of refuse and recycling
  • Cleaning of service areas
  • Assisting with incoming deliveries
  • Snow removal and grass cutting based on season
  • Attend supplier locations to obtain parts and equipment
  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to and promote a safe and secure work environment
  • Other related duties as assigned by management
What We Are Looking For:
  • Secondary School Diploma, Technicalamp; Maintenance Trainingamp; Mechanical Abilities
  • 2-4 years Related Experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computerized building control systems preferred
  • 2 years mechanical systems experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean abstract as a condition of employment
  • A negative Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check required as a condition of employment as per the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
  • Promote the culture of a safe and secure work environment
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must pass Maintenance Test (written and practical)
  • Must be available to work shift work any day of the week and every other weekend.
What We Are Offering
  • $25.49 per hour
