    • Provide physical, emotional, and social support to residents
    • Assist with personal care and daily living tasks
    • Promote resident independence through restorative care practices
    • Support individual goals outlined in care plans
    • Engage residents in leisure, recreational, and social activities
Operational Support and Compliance
    • Report concerns to nursing staff and maintain accurate documentation
    • Administer basic treatments under direction
    • Comply with Ontario’s Occupational Healthamp; Safety regulations
    • Participate in regular training and team meetings
What You BringEducation and Commitment to Growth:
    • High school diploma (Grade 12 minimum)
    • Personal Support Worker Certificate or enrolled in RN/RPN program with one year of full-time studies completed
Experience and Expertise:
    • Minimum of one-year related experience in health or community care
    • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
Other Requirements:
    • You will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained within the past six (6) months, as required by the Long-term care home act
    • Proof of a negative 2 Step TB test result along with a one-step negative result from within the last 2 (two) months, as required by the Long-term care home act
What You BringA part-time employee shall be available to work 10 to 15 shifts which may include holidays and weekends.The work schedule shall be maintained as per Employer policies and CUPE 860 Collective Agreement.Work Schedule - The Employer operates 24 hours, 7 (seven) days a week and your hours of work are based on resident needs which may include working days, afternoons, midnight and weekend shifts.It is understood and agreed that employees will work in accordance with a shift schedule. Shift schedules shall be posted at least seven (7) calendar days prior to such schedule becoming effective. The schedule shall not be changed once it has been posted unless mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the affected employee.What We Are OfferingAs a CUPE 860 position, this role is on Band 5 with a starting hourly rate of $27.08, plus additional 12% in lieu of benefits as per the collective agreementSun Parlor Home embraces diversity and inclusion in our workforce and workplace.
