  • Preparation of all materials and maintenance of equipment
  • Proper handling, storage and disposal of toxic and bio hazardous materials
  • Follow protocol to prepare media, buffers, and stains
  • Extract DNA and perform bacterial transformations
  • Test and troubleshoot lab equipment as needed
  • Set up and take down labs
Quality Assurance and Safety
  • Adhere to laboratory biosafety protocols
  • Ensure SDS are up to date and accessible
  • Promote laboratory safety practices and procedures
General Duties
  • Autoclave biohazard materials and ensuring proper storage and disposal
  • Maintain tidy, hazard free environment
  • Coordinating, organizing and assessing supplies and materials
  • Attend department meetings
  • Maintain knowledge of new advances in biology and ways to support student learning
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Biology
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong scientific background with applied experience in lab procedures is required
  • The successful candidate should possess excellent work ethics and technical skills and be able to work independently and in a dedicated team safely.
