Job Description

We are proud to be a part of a local and community focus and are seeking a Loan Support Assistant to help us continue our rich tradition of serving our community – since 1943!What do Loan Support Assistants do Our Loan Support Assistants perform the day-to-day administration of loans for Synergy members. They confidently and efficiently assist in managing and monitoring loan files, ensuring all documentation and records are accurate and current, and payments and advances are processed appropriately for our members.In this position, you will:

  • Evaluate loan files for accuracy and completeness,
  • Confirm and store application documentation,
  • Process loan payments and advances and administer back-end support (search registrations, amendments and discharge of security, property tax admin, insurance administration…),
  • Maintain and update loan agreements, payment history, and supplementary documentation,
  • Correspond with lenders, third parties, and members, responding to and acting on requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner, and
  • Complete all activities in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
What you will need for this role:
  • Diploma / degree in a related field or completion of Grade 12 or equivalent and 2 years of related experience in a financial or legal service environment,
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills,
  • Excellent attention to detail,
  • Effective collaboration skills: the ability to partner with internal and external members to ensure the needs of both are met,
  • Tech savviness and a comfort working with a variety of software programs including MS Office Suite,
  • Openness to innovation and a drive to continually search for efficiencies and ways to improve processes - for the team and our members,
  • Growth mindset: a strive for continuous learning and improvement, and a champion at communicating that knowledge back for the benefit of the team,
  • Loan administration experience such as knowledge of lending documentation, the ability to create new loans, and experience with letters of instructions would be great assets (but are not required).

Location: Flexible; may work out of any of our current branch locations with manager approval. Travel may be required for the purposes of training, events, or other Synergy business.Status: Temporary full-time position available, approximately 18 monthsHours: 75 hours biweekly. Typical hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.Salary: $43,826 - $54,782 annuallyIf the above describes you, we want to hear from you!
