Job Description

Position Purpose: To execute civil construction projects from initial planning to completion.Primary Goal: Deliver high quality, well organized projects while minimizing risk.Supervised by: General Superintendent or PresidentExpectations: - Positive attitude and communication- Leadership- Compliance with Company Policy and Procedures- Professionalism- Ongoing personal development- Efficiency and expediency- Able to collaborate and find solutions- Dependable and trustworthyKey Duties:

  • Human Resource Functions *
- Training, mentoring and development of new staff;- Timekeeping and regular communication with head office;- Prepare and communicate the work schedule;- Facilitation of safety meetings;- Provide conflict resolution.
  • Supervise Construction Activities *
- Ensure work is conducted according to project schedule and quality requirements;- Daily work planning to ensure efficient use of resources;- Developing work procedures as needed;- Providing training for new hires or directing workers on the order of tasks to be performed;- Regular inspection of work performed by employees, other contractors and sub-contractors;- Be available to work at various locations across Saskatchewan;- Coordinate the activities of a variety of professionals and laborers;- Able to interpret designs, drawings, grade stakes;- Work with the architect or engineer and ensure quality control is met;- Operate equipment, and labour as needed.Experience and Education- 5 years years of civil construction industry experience as a heavy equipment operator and;- at least one year as a foremen or superintendent on one or all of the following: construction of road or highway, rail, site or plant, and municipal infrastructure.- Experience or education relating to leadership, team building and problem solvingJob Type: Full-timeSalary: $28.00-$35.00 per hourAdditional pay:
