Job Description

As a Communications Specialist you facilitate the ongoing conversation, the story of Synergy: within Synergy and outside of Synergy.You create content with a clear purpose, a goal, and appropriate for the medium. You then utilize a variety of platforms and media outlets to publish the content. Communications are tailored for the audience, and you have a few: customers, potential customers, employees, jobseekers, and communities.Your thorough knowledge of our products and services conveys their value and context in all our messaging. Skill and experience in planning, promotion and corresponding visuals are critical to the success of our campaigns.As a Communication Specialist, you will:

  • Capture attention and articulate our value proposition clearly, briefly, appropriately, and with sensitivity – demonstrating the perspectives of our various audiences.
  • Cultivate relationships to build a positive reputation and mutually beneficial relationships between Synergy and media outlets.
  • Conduct research to support the requests of the role.
  • Effectively hold self and others accountable to stay on track with timelines and commitments.
  • Be aware of current events and consider public sentiment when crafting content - from words to images and videos. This includes social justice movements, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • Track coverage and report on the performance of content or events.
  • Utilize data to inform every aspect of design, development and distribution of content.
You are:
  • A devout writer. You revel in the process and take pride in capturing the message.
  • A clear, compelling, accurate, and effective written and verbal communicator.
  • Skilled in email marketing, video development, and employee advocacy.
  • Adept in public relations.
  • Experienced in technical writing and copywriting.
  • Social media savvy.

  • Hours: 37.5 hours weekly, Full-time. Flexibility for evenings or occasional weekends is required.
  • Salary: $57,500 to $72,000 per annum
  • This is a hybrid position, meaning some work is required to be performed on-site and some work can be performed remotely.
  • Travel is required for events, training, or other Synergy business.
