Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: Edam East, West & Vawn DepartmentJob Post End Date: 09/19/2022We are currently recruiting for an Equipment Operator Labourer to join our Lloyd Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil Maintenance Department. Reporting to the Maintenance Senior Coordinator, the Equipment Operator Labourer is assigned to an area that consists of one or more Thermal SAGD facilities and is responsible for performing day-to-day maintenance related activities. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring all work under their control is executed in a timely, safe and effective manner consistent with corporate and site- specific policies, procedures and guidelines.We are looking for an organized, motivated, self-starter who enjoys new challenges and a fast paced environment.Work Environment:This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday (8-hour day). This position is located at the Edam East Facility and supports multiple Thermal SAGD facilities in the area (ie Edam East, Edam West, and Vawn). Specific responsibilities will include:

• Operate picker trucks including vehicle inspection and preventative maintenance (PM) work
• Assist trade workers with general maintenance duties such as executing repairs, piping replacements and PM work
• Move equipment such as, piping, rotaflex components etc. as required
• Assist with special projects for maintenance support as required
• Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner according to guidelines and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance personnel – assist with troubleshooting and ensuring duties are executed in a timely manner.

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• A valid Class 5A Driver’s License. Candidates must be willing to complete the air brake endorsement if they do not currently have it
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Ability and skill to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with multi-disciplined personnel such as Operations, Maintenance Trades and Planning personnel.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently or in a team setting.
• Proficiency with computers is required (experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and SAP would be considered an asset).
• Strong safety commitment with an understanding of safety and regulatory standards and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills – able to schedule and maintain work assignments.
• This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing.

The following would be considered an asset:

• Journeyman Trade Certification
• Related experience working in an industrial/plant maintenance setting
• Ability to Read and interpret drawings and P&IDs
• Working knowledge and repair of process piping systems
• Working knowledge of valve and pipe rigging
