We offer a supportive, healthy work culture, professional development, and competitive wage.Position OverviewThis full time/part-time, temporary position is a great opportunity to gain experience with the LIHS. As the Family Activities Worker you will deliver a range of engaging recreational and social activities that strengthens the wellbeing of the families we serve at LIHS Dol-Mar Manor and Emergency Shelter. As part of the Family Support Team, you will support a full range of services and activities of the Family Support Program, offering support and practical assistance to children, youth, and their mothers. As well, you will work to promote healthy, active living, social connection, and positive family interactions.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports families with their day-to-day routines, practical needs and provides childcare options for mothers.
  • Engages children/youth, and women in activities that promotes strengths, interests, and the wellbeing of each individual.
  • Organizes and facilitates recreational and social activities for individuals and families.
  • Contributes to daily routines and general facility maintenance and operations.
QualificationsMust be 20-29 years of age per funding guidelines. Education in a Human Services or Child-Youth Development field. Experience with supporting vulnerable children/youth/families. Has a strong interest in children and youth; a positive, outgoing demeanor; the ability to develop warm, supportive relationships with children, youth, and women; the ability to work effectively in a demanding, team environment; strong problem-solving skills. A valid driver’s license, a minimum of 3 year’s driving experience and a clean driving record are also required.This is a contract position that runs May 9th to August 26th 2022No phone calls please.
