Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: Product Handling - Ethanol DepartmentJob Post End Date: 05/16/2022Cenovus is looking for a Product Handler to join their Ethanol Operations at the Lloydminster Ethanol Plant. This position will operate the product handling area safely and efficiently ensuring the proper grading and binning of grain, as well as the loading of dried distillers grain with solubles (DDGS).About Cenovus:We’re a Canadian-based integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary. Work environment:
  • This is a full-time position working a 40-hour work week. Monday to Friday. The position is based near Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the Lloydminster area.
  • Successful candidate will be required to work safely in a wide variety of conditions due to the nature of the operation (working at heights, in confined spaces, varying weather conditions, grain dust and working around moving and rotating equipment, etc.).
Responsibilities:
  • Operate the product handling area safely and efficiently to ensure the proper grading and binning of grain, as well as the loading of DDGS.
  • Collaborate and communicate clearly with maintenance, grain purchasing and operations groups, as well as with the public.
  • Perform all duties required in the receiving, grading, and storing of grain
  • Operate various types of large equipment such as forklift, loaders, tractor, manlift etc.
  • Comply with all Cenovus safety policies and assist with development of safe work procedures involving the Grain and DDGS loading/unloading facilities
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Grade XII diploma
  • 2 years related experience with an agricultural background, or a combination of education and experience in a grain elevator
  • Knowledge and experience grading grain
  • Experience in WHMIS and the transportation of dangerous goods
  • Mechanical aptitude in repairing and maintaining equipment
  • Strong computer skills, including grain elevator control systems (LV Controls), and terminal management systems
  • Competent operating large equipment such as wheel loaders, and tractors.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently or in a team setting.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments
  • For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 drivers license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A drivers abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
