Job Description

Contract Opportunity:HOT6 Reconciliation CoordinatorThe Heart of Treaty 6 (HOT6) Reconciliation Circle is comprised of a number of organizations in and around Lloydminster committed to jointly addressing Calls to Action identified within the Truth & Reconciliation (TRC) Report. To date the committee has included membership of individuals, organizations, governments, and businesses from First Nations communities, and regional municipalities. The work of the Coordinator mobilizes the Committee and communities to contribute to reconciliation through: A shared understanding of our history; Authentic relationships; Strong cultures, interwoven experiences and world views; Political, economic and social systems that represent and benefit us all.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Marketing/promotion including social media, workshops and events
  • Administration including coordination, minutes, reporting and budgeting
  • Arrange for attendance of Elders, Survivors and Coordinate honorariums, gift, and protocols
  • Fund development including sponsorship, partnerships and grants
  • Technical support including collection of community input and strategizing
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and history
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to Reconciliation in light of the TRC Report
  • Highly organized, with demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience in project/program management
  • Communication assets a high priority as engaging public is key
  • Fluent in social media platforms, with the ability to create social media content
  • Responsive to opportunities, adaptable and flexible
  • Ability to work as an independent contractor; responsible for own benefits and insurance including WCB
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable Sector check
Title: HOT6 Reconciliation CoordinatorPeriod: October 3, 2022 to October 3, 2023 (Likely extension of contract, dependent on funding)Position Status: Independent Contract position (12 months) reports to the HOT6 Hiring Committee and is accountable to the HOT6 Membership. Monthly invoices will be submitted to and paid by theCity of Lloydminster who is serving as the financial host. The HOT6 Coordinator shall at all times be an independent contractor and shall not be considered an agent or employee of the City ofLloydminster, but the Coordinator will be provided workspace and equipment at a City ofLloydminster facility.Hours: 104 hours/monthContract Value: $ $37,740Application Process:
