LAKERIDGE HEALTH Long-Term Care HomePosition: Screener X2Department: Long-Term CareLocation: Lakeridge Gardens Long-Term Care HomeStatus: Temporary Part Time - up to 6 monthsShifts: Days/Evenings/Weekends - 8 Hour Shifts; subject to changeSalary: $17.92 per hourPosting: CUPE 2200003961,62This position is open to all qualified applicants commencing August 29, 2022 and closing 11:59 pm on September 5, 2022.POSITION SUMMARY:This primary role of the COVID Screener will consist of screening patients, visitors and staff for infectious diseases prior to entry to Lakeridge Health.

• Screening all individuals entering designated Hospital/Long Term Care entrance(s) for symptoms, signs and travel based on the provided screening guidelines.
• Redirecting visitors and patients to assessment areas
• Ensuring all visitors entering Lakeridge Health follow proper precautionary measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of a high school diploma;
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Patient centred individual with strong customer services skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with a variety of staff, visitors and patients;
• Strong decision making skills
• Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with strong conflict management skills;
• Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (mask, gloves, gown);
• Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays;
• Secondary language is an asset;

• Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Healths comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular inservice education in this area;
• Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard;
• Must have a satisfactory performance record
