Job Description

McDonough Mfg. Co. is a family owned and operated manufacturer of custom sawmill machinery. McDonough buys steel and all parts, fabricates, CNC and manual machines, assembles, tests, and paints all our machinery. McDonough has had its head office in the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin since 1888 and has recently expanded its operations internationally with a manufacturing facility in Mactaquac, NB, Canada that opened in October of 2017.We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a small shop with family values.The role of the Project Manager is to plan, coordinate and schedule projects. The Project Manager will be expected to work closely with all stakeholders involved in a project. This may include but is not limited to sales staff, engineering, production manager, operations planner, controller, purchaser/receiving, clients and subcontractors.Roles and ResponsibilitiesMaintain a high level schedule. This could include:Engineering dates.Mechanical.Electrical.Pneumatic.Hydraulic.Installation drawings.Saw specs.Material and parts purchase schedule.Shop production dates.Delivery schedule.Install/startup dates.Project review and postmortem.Coordinate startup personnel (inhouse as well as subcontractors).Coordinate project kickoff meetings.Participate in design kickoff meetings.Communicate:Customer: Scheduling.Customer responsibilities.Obtain information for Engineering to complete design.Obtain approval of drawings on schedule.Responding to customer inquiries.Internal: Keep sales informed of project updates.Engage sales to participate in issue resolution as needed.Keep all internal stakeholders informed of schedule and critical status updates.Responsible for engaging key resources to resolve schedule or quality issues.Ensure all long lead items are ordered on time.Ensure there is a plan for all drawing releases. Track and monitor progress against that plan.Coordinate machine delivery schedule with the client.Manage change requests with client and sales.Maintain up to date production pages and historic record of revisions.Client follow up after installation (1 month after install).Maintain project records and digital files.Responsible for postmortem and apply lessons learned to improvements in the process.Ensure project schedule meets production value targets.Maintain performance metrics.Skills and Abilities: * Experience in the Sawmill or Manufacturing industry in Project Manager is an asset.* Background in Engineering considered an asset.* Experience with Microsoft Project.* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal* Strong customer service skills* Highly organized with attention to details* Effective multi-tasking skills* Be flexible adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of settings and as a member of a team.*Pay is negotiable based on skill and experience.Send your resume now for immediate consideration!Job Type: Full-timeJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per yearBenefits:
