McDonough Mfg. Co. is a family owned and operated manufacturer of custom sawmill machinery. McDonough buys steel and all parts, fabricates, CNC and manual machines, assembles, tests, and paints all our machinery. McDonough has had its head office in the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin since 1888 and has recently expanded its operations internationally with a manufacturing facility in Mactaquac, NB, Canada that opened in October of 2017.We currently have a career opportunity as Purchaser with McDonough Canada at our Mactaquac, New Brunswick location.What you can expect in a typical day: In your role of Purchaser, you will have responsibility and accountability for strategic sourcing and supplier relations within the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to ensure that the supply plan is optimized across McDonough.What we offer:-Competitive salary and RRSP matching-Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance)-Wellness support, including annual wellness allowance-Paid vacation and flex days-Personal and professional development opportunitiesYour roles and responsibilities:-Place orders and keeps track of purchases with the providers-Purchase products using best practices to meet planned inventory levels-Ensures to maintain multiple sources of supply according to the equipment needs of the plant-Communicate with the right people in the event of specific problems or request ---Execute strategic sourcing activities-Identify and capture value creation and cost savings opportunities-Manage contracts and supplier relationships-Understand and align to stakeholder’s markets, strategies, priorities, and plans-Able to secure win-win agreements while successfully representing the company’s interests-Understand the importance and application of all related policies, processes, and procedures-Engage with business stakeholders to monitor and resolve any issues with the supplier delivering the defined scope of services or supply of goods-Collaborate with other departments to achieve shared goals and objectives Coordination of incoming product reserved for orders/projects-Assisting with inventory control processes-Maintaining accurate and up to date record with the ERP system Professional skills-Strong analytical skills.-Communication and conflict resolution skills-Diplomacy and tact-An ability to network and build relationships-Good communication skills-Professional demeanor and presentation-Ability to navigate in a fast-paced, changing environment-Committed to achieving results-Good organizational skills and instincts with a practical sense of how to get things doneEducation and experience-University Degree in Business or related field of study-Minimum 5-7 years’ experience within Supply Chain and Procurement roles-Experience in the manufacturing sector would be an asset-Experience with Jobboss ERP would be an assetJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per yearBenefits:
