Job Description

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

  • Pride in workmanship

  • Post-secondary certification in related field
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in an automation environment
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Produce thorough proposals to submit to customers which will generally include a detailed write-up, cycle times, layouts, pricing, etc.
  • Estimate all labour and costs for each proposal
  • Responsible for obtaining up to date costing of hard items with each proposal
  • Estimate cycle times
  • Produce/procure machine and/or process layouts
  • Interpret customer RFQ’s and be able to produce solutions based on information provided
  • Work closely with customers to develop each proposal
  • Collaborate with management on general direction of all proposals
  • Collaborate with management on terms, price structure and carrying costs of all proposals
  • Responsible for seeking and utilizing feedback from controls, design and build depart when creating proposals
  • Continuous improvement of costing model
  • Maintain status of all quotations in ERP system
  • Produce budgets for awarded projects
  • Work with management to project and maintain project pipeline
Specific Knowledge Required:
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products including but not limited to, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Solidworks and AutoCAD experience is an asset
