Job Description

Bell 2 Lodge is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Cafe Attendant.Our Lodge is not a typical hotel, as it is fully self-sustaining and includes chalets with individual rooms in a remote location while also serving as a cafe & gas station. The Café Attendant must possess great customer service skills to cater to guests while maintaining inventory levels of all confectionary, beverage and house-made food items. They would also be responsible for keeping a clean work environment for guests while producing sales and working with a cash register. Excellent attention to detail and following procedures is paramount in this role. The ideal candidate will be an energetic team player, with a positive attitude and proven flexible approach.Reporting to the Lodge Manager, preferred skills and core competencies are:

• Energetic and upbeat, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Friendly personality with a genuine desire to help and please others
• Demonstrate excellent time management and interpersonal skills during work.
• Able to thrive in a diverse environment with a key focus on guest satisfaction.
• Cash handling experience is considered an asset but will train the right candidate.
• Barista and server experience is preferred.
• Accurate record keeping of all inventory and place orders on a routine and regular basis.
• Organize products to ensure appropriate rotation to maintain freshness.
• Possess articulate communication skills required to interact effectively with guests, management, employees and suppliers.
• Able to take initiative and respond to ever changing demands in a positive manner while under pressure.
• Passion for working with people and the outdoors is an asset.

Requirements

• Previous experience based in a remote lodge / camp environment is an asset
• Must be legally entitled to live & work in Canada

Accommodation and meals are provided for all employees. Shifts are three weeks on and one week off working ten hour days. Transfers to and from Terrace on weeks out are available. Given our remote location all communications are via-satellite phone and 3hr of basic internet is provided.
