Job Description

Job PurposeSupport plant and safety management to ensure compliance with established fire and safety policies and procedures. Perform tasks to implement policies and procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunicate plant health and safety policies and procedures to staff,Perform fire and safety inspections and surveys to ensure compliance with LP’s policies, procedures, regulations and standards.Maintain all associated records for equipment maintenance and training of employees.Respond to emergency situations and ensure the availability of fire and safety prevention equipment and protective clothing and devices.Ensure emergency response procedures are current and updated as requiredCoordinate and lead annual fire inspections, surveys, and Emergency Response Teams.Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulationsPerform other duties as necessaryQualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of industrial health, safety, fire prevention rules, regulationsGood written and oral communication skills.Ability to learn new policies and procedures and encourage support from plant employees.Strong organizational skills; close attention to detail.Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project outcomesAbility to operate a computer and supporting software.Knowledge of firefighting skills would be an assetEducation and Experience:1 to 2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment desired.Previous exposure to plant health and safety policies, procedures, and administration preferred.Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.Work EnvironmentManufacturing environmentQuick Apply
