CASUAL CUSTODIANS This is custodial work in the cleaning and care of public schools, primarily during the evening shift. Work involves maintaining assigned premises in a clean and orderly condition. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and scrubbing floors, waxing and polishing floors and furniture, cleaning washrooms and replacing washroom supplies, cleaning windows, lights, and walls. Work also involves shoveling snow, removing ice from school entrances, maintaining school grounds, mowing lawns and generally assuring the security of school premises while they are not in use. Other related duties as required. This is not for permanent employment. The names of successful applicants (once trained) will be placed on a replacement custodian list and will be called to work on an as-required basis.Qualifications: Graduation from high school, or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience, supplemented by an employer-approved training program. Proven ability to organize and carry out assigned custodial duties and work cordially with the public and school staff. Must be able to provide own safety boots. Good physical condition is required with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Please Note: While a high school diploma or GED are preferred, we will also accept applications for Casual Custodian from applicants with a minimum Grade 10 education plus two (2) years of custodial experience.Applicants must provide a recent criminal record check (within last 12 months) prior to being hired.
