Job Description

Company DescriptionAs a company founded and run by an artist, its our mission to provide talented artists with the freedom and resources they need to deliver quality work and to thrive in a fun and creative environment.Job DescriptionThe Animation Content Production Manager acts as the Line producer’s right hand and keeps the entire project on track from pre-production through production by consistently creating and updating schedules and timelines for every stage of the process. They work closely with the artistic leads and coordinators to determine quotas, analyze departmental progress and shift resources according to the needs of the project.Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day details of production in order to keep the project on track;
  • Assist the Line producer in creating the master schedule and all departmental micro-schedules;
  • Be proactive and assess each shot’s level of complexity during the storyboard and turnover phases, making sure that resources are available for their successful completion;
  • Provide weekly production status reports to the producer, director and buyer;
  • Prioritize the order of design and build assignment and track the progress of the artwork created. Manage the design schedule for the artists;
  • Ensure there every department is assigned enough work and that the work flows well from one department to another, making sure that weekly quotas can be met;
  • Through constant communication with Production Coordinators, be aware of each department’s workload and how it is tracking compared to the production plan;
  • Keep a vigilant watch over meeting the weekly targets;
  • If there are issues causing delays, work with the production team and supervisors to determine immediate solutions so the crew can continue to work;
  • Closely monitor the number of retakes being called, establish a tracking system to keep a close check on the retakes called and to maintain control of the budget. Structure the system to track the percentage of changes made on each shot to identify and avoid potential overages as early as possible;
  • Act as the main point of contact for sub-contractors;
  • During post-production, focus on tracking retakes, with the editor, and aid the post-production supervisor in coordinating material transfers. May be involved in scheduling recording sessions and, in some cases, attending them based on the producer’s requirements;
  • Responsible for upkeep of the script by tracking and inserting any revisions, along with making sure that all pick-up and ADR lines are recorded;
  • Supervise the work of production staff including Production Assistants, Coordinators and APMs/PDMs, providing training and guidance as needed;
  • Communicate staffing needs to the recruitment team, assist in screening candidates by reviewing CVs and conducting interviews;
  • Provide feedback to their team on a regular basis and conduct annual performance reviews;
  • Actively monitor the work climate in their team, taking steps to encourage and ensure the maintenance of a positive work environment and adherence to company values;
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of production management experience in Animation or VFX;
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, written and spoken;
  • Strong understanding of CG based workflows and their dependencies;
  • Strategic scheduling experience with an adaptive approach to meeting deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite and especially Excel;
  • Excellent sense of prioritization and respect of deadlines and budgets.
