Our insights, our applications and infrastructure give a competitive edge to clients' businesses—and to our own.About the ALGO GroupALGO is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of the Firm’s market leading ultra-low latency electronic trading platform.ALGO enables the Firm's Sales & Trading platforms across Equity, Fixed Income, FX and Commodities via advanced execution, connectivity, analytics and messaging capabilities as well as comprehensive trading risk systems and application infrastructure.The ALGO team works with clients, exchanges, internal trading desks, risk, and other technology teams to drive and deliver functionally innovative and high performant software supporting Morgan Stanley’s industry leadership and competitive advantage in the electronic trading space.The Career Opportunities:We are seeking a number of application and system integrators to join Morgan Stanley's Algorithmic Trading Technology teams in Montreal.The ideal candidate will manage or participate in the implementation and rollout of new services and products, as well as perform integration and regression tests, organize User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with end users and provide feedback to development teams if applicable. They will design and create preventative maintenance functions including monitoring of logs, alarms, system performance, and capacity, in addition to performing software decommissions, installations, upgrades in accordance with Morgan Stanley’s Change Control Procedures.You will join a team of 100+ very talented Technologists in ALGO Montreal who are focused on the development of low-latency, high performance electronic trading platforms and application infrastructure as part of a set of global strategic low-latency Algo/Electronic trading initiatives.ORGANIZATIONQualifications:

  • UNIX/Linux scripting: Proficiency in navigating UNIX servers, have a good knowledge of the majority of operational functions in UNIX and be able to read /
write and maintain UNIX shell scripts.
  • Python/PERL scripting: Some exposure to Python or PERL as a scripting language as a minimum.
  • Networking (e.g. TCP/IP): Good understanding the concepts of TCP/IP and UDP connectivity and data transfer. Knowledge of multicast is an advantage.
  • UNIX/Linux operating systems: Good understanding of UNIX concepts in order to perform resource monitoring, and be able to tune operating system
parameters according to applications requirements.
  • Problem solving skills: Able to tackle problems based on limited information, seek out solutions and work around problems in a timely manner.
  • Operational background: Experienced in support roles and comfortable performing in a variety of roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
