About usTata Steel Minerals Canada Limited (TSMC) with its headquarters at 1000, Sherbrooke W., Suite 1120, Montreal (Quebec), operates iron ore mines in the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec. TSMC is a joint venture between Tata Steel Limited and New Millennium Capital Corp. Tata Steel, part of the Tata Group of Companies, is one of the world’s top 10 steel producers and a fortune 500 company. The opportunityTSMC is currently seeking a Bilingual HR & Recruitment Coordinator to join their team based out of Montreal, QC. It is to note that this position will work remotely during Covid-19 with occasional visits to the corporate office and remote mine site when required.Reporting to the Integrated Talent Acquisition Manager, the incumbent’s primary responsibility will be to conduct full-cycle recruitment (source, screen, interview, evaluate candidates & coordinate background checks) of various technical roles at the TSMC mine site located in Newfoundland and Labrador. Secondary responsibilities include working closely with the HR team on process improvement activities.This is a one (1) year contract with possibility of extension/permanence. Please note that priority will be given to candidates based in Montreal, QC and its vicinity, however we welcome candidates located in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia who are able to travel occasionally to one of our fly-in/fly-out pickup points in St. John’s, Gander, Deer Lake, Wabush in NL, Halifax, NS and Moncton, NB.Finally, it is to note that during the Covid-19 pandemic, this role will be mostly working from home, a minimum of one (1) day per week in the office may be required as per business needs. Major Responsibilities

  • Manage end to end recruitment process
  • Conduct job analysis and debrief with Hiring Managers
  • Develop job descriptions and post
  • Source potential candidates
  • Act as a point of contact and engage with candidates in order to provide a positive candidate experience;
  • Perform pre-screening calls to assess applicants’ technical skills
  • Coordinate interviews with Hiring Managers at the mine site and follow up on the interview process status
  • Interview candidates using various methods (structured interviews, technical assessments, behavioral questions, etc.)
  • Build strong talent pipelines to help source top industry talent
  • 2. Facilitate the new hire onboarding process
  • 3 Assist and actively participate in various HR improvement projects as required
Your Profile
  • Relevant experience as a Technical Recruiter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French
  • Technical expertise with an ability to understand and explain job requirements for various trades and different types of industrial/mining positions
  • Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g. social media recruiting and Boolean search)
  • Flexibility and ability to work autonomously in a remote and fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases
  • Experience as an HR Generalist
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or relevant discipline, an asset
