No matter the canvas – be it film, lighting, multimedia architecture, sound design, special effects, or interactive projects – the thirst for experimentation and innovation is at the core of our DNA.YOUR MISSIONThe Composer is responsible for designing sound experiences by composing original music, soundtracks, arrangements and sound effects in collaboration with the creative team for various projects.The music composition team is a new team at Moment Factory. As such, we are looking for accomplished artists, individuals who, through multiple work experiences, are able to create diverse musical compositions and thrive in collaborative environments.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the responsibility of the Team Director and the Musical Director, and in close collaboration with the Multimedia Directors:Compose musical frameworks; generate sound effects;Contribute to the creative process and concept development by proposing musical approaches;Contribute to the musical coherence of the project as well as its sound quality;Contribute to shaping and telling the story of the project through the medium of sound/audio;Be prepared to present compositions to colleagues or clients when required;Compose quickly and effectively in a variety of styles with an approach adapted to the various needs and scales of projects (from conception to execution).QUALIFICATIONSUniversity degree in instrumental/sound composition or other relevant field of study;Good knowledge of English and French (spoken);7 to 10 years of experience in sound design for multimedia environments, in the entertainment industry, performing arts, film, television and post-production, video games or any other relevant creative environment;Demonstrated production skills with the Ableton software;Knowledge of Cubase, Logic, ProTools, Nuendo etc. knowing that Ableton is the primary software for interactive sound composition;Ability to sound mix in small team projects.QUALITIESInspired and inspiring creativity;Artistic and musical sensitivity;Curiosity; constantly on the lookout for trends in the entertainment and media industry;Versatile work aesthetic, from pop, rock and electronic to orchestral; able to respond to various markets;Strong organizational skills, discipline and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage various projects, priorities and deadlines;Reliability, autonomy, diplomacy and passion for teamwork.ASSETSKnowledge of the Wise software or of the Unity and Unreal audio engines;Experience in instrumental writing and ability to create scores for recording sessions;Ability to manage narrators during recording sessions.If you think this position is for you, we invite you to apply now.
