Job Description

We are also one of the largest buyers of fruit globally each year, and continue to enjoy strong growth in this emerging category in retail.The Role:The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician Intern is responsible for supporting the quality and compliance of frozen raw materials and finished products, including inventory quality control. This role plays a key part in ensuring adherence to food safety standards and company protocols through documentation and collaboration with cross-functional teams.This position involves working in both the Food Safety department and production and warehouse environments, including cold storage areas. The candidate must be able to lift up to 25 kg and stand for extended periods during inspections. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as per company policy.Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections and quality checks on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with food safety standards and internal specifications.
  • Support inventory quality control processes, including assessments of aging or slow-moving stock as needed.
  • Participate in product evaluations and assist in identifying non-conforming or expired inventory.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of quality checks, evaluations, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse, production, and supply chain teams to support traceability, proper labeling, and record-keeping of inventory with quality concerns.
  • Support cycle count activities by identifying and documenting quality-related issues.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures while working in the facility.
  • Ad-hoc Quality projects and tasks assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
  • At Minimum Cegep or college graduate.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Communicate in French and English to serve internal and external customers.
