By partnering with filmmakers to unite their creative visions, with our industry-leading craftsmanship and artistry, we create characters that connect with audiences on an authentic and emotional level to bring powerful stories to life.Job DescriptionContextMikros Animation is currently preparing several full CG feature films, including Paw Patrol II, directed by Carlos Baena and produced by Paramount Animation, in Paris.We are looking for FX Leads to join our great team!Job descriptionPaw Patrol is a full-length animated feature film punctuated by its action and emotional moments, full of special effects of all kinds.Under the responsibility of the FX Supervisor, the FX Leads will work and be the guarantors of the production of the different types of FX present in the film, respecting the artistic vision of the director and the quality expectations of the project.Responsibilities

• Apply and have the FX Artists apply the aesthetic, technical and methodological guidelines defined beforehand by the FX Supervisor.
• Be a driving force in proposing good practices and approaches necessary to produce effects
• Ensures that the directors overall creative vision is respected and the visual requirements are met.
• Listening to its teams in order to identify and address potential technical problems and collaborate with the teams concerned to resolve them.
• Ensure compliance with the quotas established by the FX Supervisor and the Production Coordinator (his own and his teams)
• Bring up any technical and/or human problems that could hinder the achievement of the effects on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.

QualificationsRequired skills...

• Maya & Houdini software expertise
• Knowledge of one or more of the following: Katana / Arnold / Nuke
• Technical problem solving skills and abilities
• Previous team management experience required
• Creative sense and ability to understand artistic direction
• Knowledge of effects techniques such as particles, smoke, fire, dust, explosions and fluids
• Previous experience in Animation or Live Action feature film required
• Work ethic based on dynamism and collaboration
• Good level of English imperative

And appreciated assets...

• Experience in 2D and/or stylized FX
• Knowledge of Python/Mel
