About the DepartmentALM Treasury is a Transversal Activity within BNP Paribas Group. ALM Treasury has three operational responsibilities and two prudential mandates. The three operational responsibilities are the management of the Groups liquidity position, the management of the interest rate risk in the banking book and the management of the foreign exchange risks. The prudential mandates refer to the liquidity risks linked to the Group’s profile and protecting the Group’s signature. ALM Treasury North America (ALMT NA) oversees the Combined US Operations and the Canadian activities of BNP Paribas.ALMT Service CenterIn 2019, ALMT management announced the creation of a Service Center in Montreal to support mutualized activities across the various legal entities belonging to North America (NA). The Service Center supports Retail activities at Bank of the West (BOTW) and Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) activities.The Service Center is now composed of 4 teams, with 24 FTE.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESManagement ResponsibilityThe Head of the ALMT Service Center will be in charge of the day to day management of the teams composing the Service Center. This responsibility entails guidance and mentorship of the various team members, regular feedback on performance and areas of improvement. It also includes motivating the group through a clear understanding of roles and ability to make an impact. More importantly, this management responsibility entails providing a sense of purpose of the actions of the Service Center teams. Finally, this responsibility also includes identifying and proposing career path for Service Center team members.In this management responsibility, the Head of the Service Center is assisted by the heads of the various teams.Service Center delivery and governance Responsibility
  • Oversee the delivery of the services as per the Service Level Agreements between entities ensuring in particular that resources / processes / systems are adequate to fulfill these services in a secure and efficient manner, and within the defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Drive a continuous improvement and control culture within the Montreal Service Center to optimize the services delivered to the different stakeholders.
  • He / She will also contribute to the strategic development of the Service Center within ALMT Americas platform.
  • Implement the appropriate forums and interactions with ALMT stakeholders to ensure that Service Center teams have a thorough understanding of the impact of their actions on the overall ALMT Strategy.
  • Implement the appropriate forums with other ALMT teams to review Key Performance Indicators, satisfaction level of internal clients, as well as sign-off and endorsement of the reported numbers by receiving teams.
  • Ensure the appropriate implementation of IHC-CUSO or Group policies and procedures.
For the execution of these responsibilities, he / she will be assisted by the heads of each Service Center team, who will report into him / her.KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSSkills and Qualifications:
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience within ALMT with a management role, and a thorough understanding of ALMT’s mandate and strategy.
  • Knowledge of core ALMT principles and finance acumen around topics such as interest rate risks, liquidity risks, funds transfer pricing, and financial planning.
  • Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, running projects and interacting with international teams acquired by working for a business line or ALMT
  • Interpersonal, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Team management skills including appraisals, performance management, team building, career orientation, …
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Language: English/French
Education
  • Master’s degree in engineering or MBA in a financial or technical field
  • Degree in a Quantitative field, including quantitative finance is a plus but not mandatory
