Job Description

A propos de TalanTalan Canada is growing and looking to strengthen its team with an IT Business Analyst for the Montreal office, who will be interested in working with clients from multiple industries.For 20 years, Talan has been advising companies, supporting them and implementing their transformation projects in France and internationally. Present on four continents, Talan aims to achieve a turnover of 350 million euros for 4,000 consultants in 2021. The group puts innovation at the heart of its development and intervenes in areas linked to technological changes such as Big Data, IoT, Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence.Primary tasks related to Business Analyst role include but are not limited to:

  • Build knowledge and expertise on the companys equities and equity derivatives system
  • Understand trading environment and regulatory constraints.
  • Translate the needs into Agile stories and support the Product Owner
  • Translate technical constraints and issues to a non-technical audience
  • Establish strong client relationships with business partners to satisfy their needs and anticipating potential issues
  • Participate in design, development, testing, deployment, and support of high-quality software applications using C# and related .NET technologies, as well as REST services
  • Communicate, escalate, and update stakeholders on several topics (progress, issues, action plans, etc.)
  • Coordinate and liaise with the various clients on User Acceptance Test (UAT) phase
  • Assist into QA Testing with different IT teams using the system
  • Participate in testing automation with proposing new ideas helping across any testing phase (UATs, non-regression,) to secure production releases and to produce/promote maintainable and high quality solutions
  • Ensure that user demos, UATs and chain testing results, users’ certifications are documented and tracked.
  • Respect internal IT norms, standards, and processes.
  • Effective and efficient oral and written communication with various audience at appropriate levels.

Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of equity derivatives instruments, US financial market, market connectivity, order management systems and trading tools.
  • Knowledge in financial standardized messaging protocol like FIX
  • Agile /Scrum experience including TDD
  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery practices and tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Software development lifecycle knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret code, logs, CSV files and similar system outputs
  • Strong database experience including SQL queries and stored procedure (SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase …).
Desired / Plus:
  • Unix / Linux Operating System
  • Knowledge of Excel VBA
  • Programming background / capacity to interpret software code
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design and development
Experience Required:
  • 4+ years with IT business analysis
  • Experience working in a global/international financial IT environment, in Fintech Firm or in Banking.
Education Required:
  • Master of Computers Science or other related university degree

  • English
