Company descriptionThe McGill-Mouse-Miniscope (M3) Touchscreen Behaviour Platform is a cohesive imaging and behavioural neuroscience research initiative, spearheaded by Dr Sylvain William and Dr Mark Brandon.Our mission is to develop new expertise and technologies that bridge the research findings between mouse and human. The platform is continually developing and testing novel approaches for understanding and decoding brain and circuit function and we are eager to share our capabilities with the greater neuroscience community as well as for pharma and biotechs.Our facility is ready to collect high-throughput in vivo neuronal activation in mice, by way of calcium imaging through the UCLA Miniscope, during validated behaviour activity in Bussey-Saksida touchscreen chambers.https://www.m3platform.org/Job descriptionUnder the supervision of the research coordinator the technician will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Run mouse behavioural experiments
  • Performing surgeries on mice
  • Provide general lab support including maintenance of equipment, cleaning workstations, and waste disposal
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in working with rodents or training in Animal Health Technology is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work independently and in a group
  • Experience with brain tissue histology is an asset
