This program provides evidence-based treatments and supports for adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness as well as co-occurring addiction issues. Additionally, they will be able to provide culturally competent treatment modalities, have an anti-racist lens, have completed some personal reflection and growth in their own equity journey, have a strong commitment to providing equitable services to the community, foster an open and productive environment, and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for the diverse populations we serve. Mental Health Specialists provide outpatient treatment to vulnerable individuals, many of whom may have limited resources. As a Mental Health Specialist you will provide assessment, treatment planning, individual, and group therapy as well as some community outreach and crisis intervention. This position coordinates care with a team of therapists, addiction specialists, case managers, psychiatric prescribers, peer specialists, and supported employment specialists. You will also be expected to participate in and support increased diversity and equity within our team, clinic, and county.Competitive candidates will have experience working with this population and be skilled at engaging, assessing, and appropriate treatment planning with this population. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English/Spanish and be either a CADC or have a minimum of 60 hours of Alcohol and Drug training with extensive experience conducting and providing substance abuse assessment and treatment.
