Job Description

Department of Biology (Professor Melania Cristescu)Position Summary:

  • Under minimal supervision, conduct research project comparatively investigating quantitative versus digital droplet PCR: A methodological comparison for quantifying aquatic eDNA and eRNA samples.
  • Develop and execute laboratory experiments;
  • Collect and interpret resulting data for statistical and data analysis;
  • Lead and write first-author research paper;
  • Evaluate current laboratory protocols and make recommendations for new protocols for current and future research members.
  • Assist with the training of new students and postdocs on laboratory techniques and/or related research activities where possible
Qualifications:Able to work independently and with minimal supervision; Knowledge of molecular skills, ideally experience in working with environmental DNA and RNA; Collaborative and analytical skills.
