Job Description

superintendentAre you looking for career opportunities within a global,growing real estate companyThen you might be our next superintendent.job descriptionAkelius is seeking a customer service oriented superintendent with strong interpersonal skills to join the facility management team.The superintendent will provide a safe and adequate environment for the tenants and assigned staff of the property.The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and building code compliance.

  • complete minor and major repairs of all building equipment
  • perform preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a schedule basis which are not limited to inspections of belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, greasing bearings, seals, replace or repair broken parts
  • repair of doors, door locks, closets and installation of blinds
  • complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures
  • maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures
  • operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
  • respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
  • assist with the renovations and remodeling of buildings
  • repair plaster, drywall and painting
  • perform outside custodial duties such as snow removal
  • other duties as assigned
who you are
  • three plus years of experience in building and mechanical maintenance repair, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
  • knowledge in using hand and power tools
  • must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
  • bilingual in French and English preferred but not required
  • must be able to stand, sit, bend and or crouch throughout your shift
  • problem solving - ownership of responsibilities , able to anticipate and address issues in emergency situations
  • great communication skills – able to interact with tenants, people focused, positive and stay professional
  • exceptional driving skills
  • articulate - as there might be times in which information will need to be presented
  • time management – organized, set priorities, meet daily targets and deadlines
