Job Description

IntroductionSystem Administrators are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a System Admin with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource: data.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the SAN infrastructure across multilple Federal Government contracts.Day to Day steady state support includes incident, problem, change and service request ticket management while respecting the established service level agreements established in the various master services agreement contracts. Environment upgrades are required to ensure that firmware and software are always at supported levels.Monthly security compliance and patching to prevent breaches in the environment.New projects that require additional SAN builds or decommissions in support of the clients requirements. Monitoring and action on alerts generated to prevent unforseen outages. Team members will be responsible for support of the environment in a 7 days a week, 24 hour, 365 day environment. After hour on call responsibilities are a requirement of this position which is shared across the team.SAN team works hand in hand with the UNIX, Windows and VMware server administrators. As well as the CITRX, Network and Database Admistration teams to provide seamless service to our clients.The successful candidate will join an dedicated and professional team of information technology specialists who have a strong desire to keep their skillsets current and are rewarded for acquiring certifications and new technology skills.Our clients often contract our team to deploy leading edge software and hardware and the latest in tools and processes to administer this hardware and software.10-15 years of Strong main frame storage management background with team lead directing the department skills.10 -15 years of Midrange SAN support.10+ years Experience with implementation and support of Brocade/Hitachi SAN environments.5+ years Experience providing transition and SAN install labour estimates and implementation plans for new clients, change orders (PCRs), and RFPs.MVS / JCL.DFSMS.Brocade SAN support.McData SAN support.Hitachi Lightning disk system support.DS4000 series disk system support.Basic project management skills.Team lead supervisory skills in mainframe and midrange storage departments.GTSCAPROMO2021Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseBilingual in English and French.Canadian Federal Government Security Clearance Level 2 - Secret.Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseCandidate should be versed in Cloud offerings by the various vendors that offer infrastructure solutions.Certifications are encouraged.Canadian Federal Government experience.Must be legally authorize to work in Canada without sponsorship.About Business UnitThis position currently sits within Global Technology Services (GTS) Infrastructure Services (IS) or a shared services function supporting GTS.As announced in October 2020, IBM intends that its managed infrastructure services business of the GTS organization will become an independent company named Kyndryl by the end of 2021, creating two distinct and powerful market-leading companies.Together, we will advance the vital systems that power the digital economy.
