Baker Tilly Ottawa LLP is looking for an experienced, motivated, and client driven individual to join our dynamic team as an Audit and Assurance Senior. We are seeking a candidate to assist us in providing excellent client service and working collaboratively with us to achieve our objective of becoming our clients’ trusted business advisor.You will have the opportunity to work closely with partners, managers and other staff and join an organization that values work/life balance and puts an emphasis on developing our people. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Completing and supervising engagements, primarily audits and reviews and related tax filings within a paperless office environment.
  • Identifying and resolving assurance engagement issues.
  • Training and mentoring junior staff on assurance engagements.
  • Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with clients, co-workers and all levels of staff and management.
  • Assisting in the training and development of our team.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Ability to work in English and French.
  • Previous experience in a public accounting firm working on audits and review engagements.
  • A professional designation.
  • Good technical knowledge of GAAP, audit and review procedures and tax compliance.
  • Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
