About the roleReporting to our Moose Jaw Plant Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to ensure timely and cost-effective purchases of all materials and services. We’ll lean on you to arranging the most efficient shipping and receiving of products and materials, and work with corporate procurement to ensure optimal supply lines are maintained. Day to day, you’ll collaborate with our Plant team and and Supply Chain department to ensure all purchased materials and services are properly received, utilized, and accounted for.What you’ll need:
  • Experience working with corporate procurement and external vendors to determine best prices, terms, and timelines for all orders
  • A background in materials scheduling
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and obtaining approval from requisitioning department
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience coordinating international shipments
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor inventory and prepare weekly reports for the corporate office
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Keen organizational skills: keeping information accessible by sorting and filing documents
  • A background in developing, implementing, and reviewing buying strategies in a manufacturing plant
  • Strong relationship building and negotiating abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Ability to oversee unloading and loading of goods from trucks and route goods to appropriate storage areas
  • Ability to organize the safe shipment of products out of the plant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bonus points for:
  • Valid Forklift Certification
  • Quality or Supply Chain Management Certifications
  • Experience as a buyer in a manufacturing setting
