  • Provide instruction to students enrolled in the Architectural Technologies program.
  • Design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach in either a face-to-face or online delivery mode.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
  • Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
  • Use digital tools proficiently, including general office applications.
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
  • Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCESpecific AccountabilitiesDutiesRequired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
  • Diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology or related field (i.e. Interior Design).
  • Member of or eligible for membership/certification with IDAS, SAA, APEGS or SASTT, at an A.Sc.T. level, as applicable.
  • Five years’ of experience, 2 years of which are recent/relevant in the related industry.
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of drafting software, graphic or visualization software, the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
