  • Promote a culture of innovation in teaching and learning by developing relationships and removing barriers for faculty who want to enhance or explore their teaching practices. This may include supporting the implementation of new instructional methods, innovative classroom and assessment technologies, and innovative curriculum for a variety of Business courses. Additional responsibilities may include collaborating with faculty to identify technology and other resources that enhance teaching and learning and provide support in implementing them where needed.
  • Develop working relationships with appropriate internal and external partners and employers. This may include (but is not limited to) program promotion, arranging industry speakers and networking events, liaising with potential employers, and mentoring and supporting faculty in developing work-integrated/project-based learning opportunities.
  • Instruct business courses in the Business diploma program and/or related programs as required.
  • Design and implement a student-centered classroom using an outcome-based approach.
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using appropriate instructional methodologies.
  • Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
  • Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs, such as adult learning principles.
  • Be reflective of and responsive to the accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
  • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
  • Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
  • Attend program and school meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCESpecific AccountabilitiesDutiesRequired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)1. Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Administration; OR equivalent 4-year Business degree; OR related 4-year degree with major or related experience in specialty area to be taught; OR Business diploma with Education degree with related experience in specialty area to be taught2. Recent/relevant work experience (2 years in the last 5) in the business environment in the specialty area to be taught.3. Effective communication skills (written and oral).4. Effective interpersonal skills.5. Ability to work as a team member and foster teamwork.6. Effective instructional ability.7. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite, Brightspace (D2L) software, and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology, ZOOM or MS Teams8.
