Park Maintenance Worker - PAR003103Employment Type: Expression of Interest for SGEU Term less than 9 monthsLocation(s): SK-South East-Moose Mountain Provincial ParkMinistry: 027 Parks Culture and SportSalary Range: $20.670-$25.903 HourlyGrade: SGEU.04.The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport’s mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors.The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Maintenance Worker for provincial park lands within Moose Mountain Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service. Reporting to the Resource Maintenance Supervisor, this position will be involved in the maintenance program.As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform a variety of repair and general maintenance activities on park facilities and grounds. You may also be required to perform repairs of small motor mechanics and welding on variety of park equipment. You will operate light-to-heavy equipment such as tractors with loaders, heavy duty trucks, grader, light trucks, riding mower, skid steer, power tools and other equipment as directed. You will perform janitorial and sanitation functions, pick up and disposal of garbage and debris. In addition, you will assist with the monitoring and inspection of the water and sewer systems under the direction of the supervisor. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying and moving supplies and equipment. You must comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations and WHMIS. This position will also be responsible for assigning and overseeing the work of others.The successful candidate will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities), safe equipment and building operation, maintenance and minor repair. You will have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations.The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and/or as a contributing member of a park team to complete work assignments and contribute towards a positive working environment. You will have the ability to respond accurately, clearly and courteously to inquiries from the general public. You will have the ability to identify problems, consider various options and determine an appropriate course of action. You will also physically perform tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving supplies and equipment such as picnic tables and cleaning supplies/pumps.You must possess a current valid Driver’s License and be available to work on weekends.We are committed to workplace diversity.Hours of Work: C - SGEU Regulated 37.33 - one day off every three weeksNumber of Openings: 1Closing Date: Dec 19, 2022, 11:59:00 PMQuick Apply
