Park Sanitation/Maintenance Worker - PAR002856Employment Type: Expression of Interest for SGEU Term less than 9 monthsLocation(s): SK-South East-Moose Mountain Provincial ParkMinistry: 027 Parks Culture and SportSalary Range: $20.670 - $25.903 HourlyGrade: SGEU.04.The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Sanitation/Maintenance Worker in Moose Mountain Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Park Service. Reporting to the Supervisor, this position will be involved in the maintenance program.As a Park Sanitation/Maintenance Worker you will perform janitorial and sanitation functions, pick up and disposal of garbage and debris. The main duty of this position is ensuring the maintenance and cleanliness of service centers and washrooms throughout the park. Assist with maintenance and care of park facilities and grounds. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying and moving of supplies and equipment and frequent use of household and commercial cleaning products as well as paint, latex gloves, bug spray. etc. This position involves both outdoor and indoor work. Comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHIMIS and TDG. Candidate must possess a current valid drivers license. Candidate must be available to work weekends and evenings.The successful candidate will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods/applications/mixing (materials, equipment and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities); safe equipment and building operation and maintenance. Knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations are beneficial however training is available.The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and/or a contributing member of park team and/or as a team leader of the sanitation crew to complete work assignments and contribute to a positive working environment. You will be required to direct the work of other sanitation staff. You will have the ability to respond accurately, clearly and courteously to inquiries from the general public. You will have the ability to identify problems, consider various options and determine appropriate course of action, physically perform tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving supplies and equipment such as cleaning equipment and tools, picnic tables, cleaning supplies, etc. The successful candidate must maintain a very high level of cleanliness in the outhouses and shower buildings (service centres) at the beach and campgrounds.We are committed to workplace diversity.Hours of Work: C - SGEU Regulated 37.33 - one day off every three weeksCriminal Record Check Requirement: The successful candidate shall be subject to a Criminal Record Check as a condition of employmentNumber of Openings: 1Closing Date: Mar 7, 2022, 11:59:00 PMQuick Apply
