About Antara AgronomyOur mission is to help farmers maximize their crop inputs and profits with proven data. Antara offers advanced agronomy consulting services to growers based in the Red River Valley. Our recommendations are unbiased and backed by our own extensive on-farm research and agronomy benchmarking programs. We work with mid to large-sized farming operations that strive to do better. Along with our clients, we believe there is always a better way.As an Agronomist on the Antara team, you will be working closely with leadership to proactively support our agronomy consulting service and on-farm research program.You will assist in crop and fertility planning, field scouting and making recommendations to producers. You will assist in the management of our field scale research plots - including implementation, monitoring and harvest. You will be in regular contact with clients to collect and enter production data as it pertains to our benchmarking and research programs. In addition, you will work alongside the team to promote and grow Antara, these activities can involve event planning, copywriting, as well as supporting social media content creation.The successful candidate for this role is an innovative and agile team player who is ready to take on whatever the day provides!Responsibilities

  • Conduct soil tests and studies.
  • Estimate/measure crop production quantities.
  • Conduct experiments to identify methods to increase crop production.
  • Plan and implement measures to improve soil fertility and crop growth.
  • Plan and implement crop rotation systems.
  • Monitor crops for diseases, pesticides, etc.
  • Support growers with scouting and proactive support.
About You | Qualifications
  • You possess a valid class 5 driver’s licence, and you love working outdoors.
  • You have a degree or diploma in agriculture from a recognized college or university.
  • You are eligible to reside and work in the Red River Valley of Manitoba, Canada.
  • You get fulfillment supporting others.
  • You’re a strong communicator.
  • You’re smart, enthusiastic and love to do great work.
  • Prioritization and planning are second nature to you.
  • You prefer working towards a goal rather than waiting to be given tasks.
  • If you can’t do something, you can find someone who can.
  • You’re good at systems and processes.
  • Setting up spreadsheets and collecting data from producers are easy for you.
