Job Description

JOIN THE NORSTAR TEAM!Norstar Industries Ltd. is a family-owned manufacturer located just outside Rosenort, MB. At Norstar we build conveyance equipment for the agriculture, agri-industrial and industrial markets. Norstar is also the home of the U-Drainâ„¢ floor drainage system. Our purpose is to build innovative solutions that help build and feed the world.Norstar prides itself in providing a market-leading product that is exceptional on every level. To do this, we need an exceptional team. We are now seeking an experience CNC Laser Operator / Machinist to join our team.The CNC Operator / Machinist will be responsible for the successful daily operation of a Doosan Puma 2600Y CNC turning centre, Manual lathe machine.Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Machining components according to blueprints
  • Ensuring the quality of finished product
  • Transport steel within the factory as required
  • Operate tools and hoists to effectively complete jobs according to Norstar Safety Standards
  • Assist and oversee the set up and operator of other Doosan Machine, providing back up to other operator as need be
  • Basic roubleshooting and repairs of equipment as well as equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Must have previous, related experience
  • Experience setting up an CNC Lathe (tooling)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and guidance from shop leadership
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols
  • Physically able to lift up to 45 lbs
  • Willingness to work Overtime as required
