Job Description

Norstar Industries Ltd. is a family-owned manufacturer located just outside Rosenort, MB. At Norstar we build conveyance equipment for the agriculture, agri-industrial and industrial markets. To do this, we need an exceptional team. We are currently seeking an experienced Cutting Room Technician to join our team!The Cutting Room Technician will be responsible for the operation of a steel cutting Band Saw, Iron Worker, Metal Shear and/or Brake Press. Other responsibilities may include the transportation of steel within the factory and machine maintenance.Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (4-10 hour shifts)Responsibilities of the Job: Including, but not limited to the following:

  • Read and interpret documentation and cut/bend components accordingly
  • Ensure the quality of finished product
  • Operate tools and hoists to effectively complete jobs according to Norstar Safety Standards.
  • Maintain safe work practices.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance and safety concerns
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Experience operating different steel cutting machines is an strong asset
  • Work well independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Steel-toed safety boots are required
  • Physically able to light up to 45 lbs
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, standing for long periods of time, bending, lifting, twisting, etc.
  • Willingness to work Overtime as required
