Job Description

JOIN THE NORSTAR TEAM! Norstar Industries Ltd. is a manufacturer of one of the largest product lines of grain handling equipment on the market. Supplying material handling solutions to customers both nationally and internationally, Norstar prides itself in providing a market-leading product with integrity and quality.We are currently seeking experienced individuals to join our team in our Prefab department.As the successful candidate, your main focus will be the efficient operation of the steel cutting Band Saw. Other responsibilities may include the transportation of steel within the factory and machine maintenance. This is all accomplished in a high paced manufacturing environment.Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Read and interpret documentation and cut/bend components accordingly
  • Ensure the quality of finished product
  • Operate tools and hoists to effectively complete jobs according to Norstar Safety Standards.
  • Maintain safe work practices
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition and report maintenance and safety concerns
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Experience operating different steel cutting machines is preferred
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and guidance from shop leadership
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols
  • Physically able to lift up to 45 lbs
  • Able to stand for 10 hour shifts
