Job Description

Job PurposeSecure Energy is seeking experienced, safety-minded Sulphur Remelt Operators. The ideal candidate will be experienced in heavy equipment operation. Sulphur Remelt Operators are responsible for the safe and effective operation of loader and conveyor systems as well as sulphur remelt pit pumps and piping systems in completion of projects in Shell Shantz.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively training Operators on the plant procedures
  • Conducting boiler operations, testing and steam system operations
  • Conducting daily, weekly and monthly plant checks
  • Performing general cleaning duties throughout the day
  • Operate loader and conveyor systems
  • Operate sulphur remelt pit pumps and piping systems
Qualifications/CompetenciesThe individual in this role will have:
  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of Pre-employment testing
  • Heavy equipment (loader) operation experience
  • Special training in boilers, treaters, shaker/centrifuge, pumps (all) and loader
  • Valid and current safety tickets including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHIMS and TDG
  • A strong attention to detail, communication skills and a profound ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
  • Proven ability to work well under a limited amount of supervision
  • Proven ability to demonstrate strong teaching methods regarding all processes in the plant, including; safety operations, oil treating & blending, waste processing and water disposal
