Job Description

Job Title: Foreman Commercial Mixed-Useamp; Multi-Family ConstructionLocation: Nanaimo, BCAbout Us: We are a premier construction firm based in Nanaimo, BC, specializes in delivering exceptional commercial mixed-use and multi-family construction projects. Our goal is to provide innovative and sustainable construction solutions that exceed our clients #39; expectations and positively impact our community.Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Foreman to join our team. The Foreman will play a crucial role in supervising and coordinating daily construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires strong leadership abilities and hands-on experience in commercial and multi-family construction.Key Responsibilities:

  • On-Site Supervision: Oversee daily operations on the construction site, including managing and directing crew members, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Work Coordination: Ensure that construction activities are carried out according to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor work performance and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards and building codes.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety procedures and regulations on-site to maintain a safe working environment and minimize risks.
  • Materialsamp; Equipment: Manage and track construction materials and equipment, ensuring availability and proper use.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts in a timely manner, maintaining project momentum.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, labor hours, and material usage.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between the project manager, tradespeople, and other stakeholders, providing updates and feedback as needed.
  • Training: Mentor and train junior staff and new hires to ensure they understand and adhere to project standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Foreman or in a similar supervisory role, with hands-on experience in commercial mixed-use and multi-family construction.
  • Education: Relevant education or trade certification in construction, building trades, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codes relevant to commercial and multi-family projects.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, WHMIS) are preferred.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and address issues or delays to keep projects on track.
