Job Description

Job Title: General Maintenance WorkerPrimary Location: Vancouver, BC Job status: Full-Time, PermanentPrimex Investments Ltd. Our in-house cross-functional teams include acquisitions, development, construction, marketing, leasing, and property management. With almost $1 billion in assets under management, and 150+ staff province wide, Primex is a leader in the development and operation of multi-family residential rental housing in BC.We are currently seeking a skilled General Maintenance Worker to join our residential maintenance team in Nanaimo, British Columbia. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an established regional portfolio and provide exceptional maintenance support. Key Responsibilities:

  • - General building maintenance under close supervision.
  • - Grounds, maintenance and minor repair work.
  • - General labour work as assigned by property and resident management team, including loading, unloading, moving materials and running errands.
  • - Painting and drywall patching.
  • - Replacing light bulbs/lamps, cleaning fixtures, and moving furniture.
  • - Responding quickly to emergency situations and resident concerns.
  • - Monitoring landscaping, common area and parking facilities.
  • - Performing some janitorial duties as needed.
  • - Complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives as related to building operations and practices safe work habits.
  • - Other duties as assigned.
Required Skillsets:
  • - Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • - Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • - Able to communicate effectively and work independently.
  • - May be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations.
  • - May require shift work and/or on-call duties.
  • - Pass criminal background requirements.
  • - Must have a valid driver #39;s license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Knowledge of older plumbing systems is considered an assetEducation and Experience: 
  • - High school diploma or equivalent.
  • - 3-5 years of experience in facilities and building maintenance or relevant experience
  • - A Certificate of Qualification in Plumbing or Electrical will be considered an asset
