We provide training to help ensure your success in the role.Make a difference!Position Title: Customer Services Consultant – Identification ServicesLocation: Commissionaires – Nanaimo OfficeWage: $22.00/hour plus RSPSection: ID ServicesUnion Status: non-unionHours: Part-time as needed Mon-Fri 8am-4pm (excluding Stats)JOB SUMMARY:Customer Services Consultant – Identification Services plays a crucial role in the accurate collection, processing, and recording of fingerprints for various purposes, including criminal background checks, employment screening, and government applications. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to strict protocols to ensure the integrity and reliability of fingerprint records.RESPONSIBILITIES:Fingerprint Collection:

  • Greet clients and explain the fingerprinting process, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Verify the identity of individuals using appropriate identification documents and procedures.
  • Capture fingerprints using electronic fingerprinting equipment or traditional ink and paper methods, following established protocols and techniques.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Enter demographic information and other relevant data into the fingerprinting system (CPIC and Live Scan) accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of fingerprint records, adhering to privacy regulations and organizational policies.
  • Perform quality checks on fingerprint images to ensure clarity, completeness, and compliance with established standards.
  • Follow strict protocols and procedures for handling, storing, and transmitting fingerprint data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay informed about updates and changes to fingerprinting techniques, technologies, and legal requirements, attending training sessions or workshops as necessary.
Customer Service and Communication:
  • Provide courteous and helpful assistance to clients, addressing any questions or concerns related to the fingerprinting process.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and supervisors to coordinate appointments, resolve issues, and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with clients, demonstrating sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGEamp; COMPETENCIES:
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals.
  • Training in criminal justice, forensic science, or a related field an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Will learn programs such as CPIC and Live Scan.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Eligible to obtain a Reliable Status clearance through Public Works Government Service Canada.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in other languages considered an asset.
