EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYINTERNAL / EXTERNAL POSTINGClassroom and Laboratory InstructorHealth Care Assistant (HCAP) Program CasualSite: New AiyanshNEC Native Education College is a large private Indigenous college in Vancouver and works with First Nationsand Indigenous organizations to deliver programs in locations throughout British Columbia. We strive to combineacademic excellence with a strong commitment to First Nations community-based education and the bestpractices of adult education. We are seeking for a laboratory Instructor to educate and supervise HCAstudents at our New Aiyansh Campus.Personal Care and Assistance- HCA 140This practical course will offer students the opportunity to acquire personal care and assistance skills within theparameters of the HCA role. The course is comprised of lecture and supervised laboratory experiences whichassist the students to integrate theory from other course to develop care-giver skills that maintain and promotethe comfort, safety, and independence of individuals in community and facility areas.Instructor Qualifications:

• LPN/ RN Current with full or non-practicing registration with CLPNBC, CRNBC or CRPNBC
• Minimum two-year, full-time nursing experience (1 year=1400 hour), including experience working with

older adults with complex health needs, experience or orientation in home support and multi-level/complexcare.

• Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners (PID diploma equivalent education or previous teaching

experience with satisfactory references and student course evaluation.

• Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
• Knowledge of and successful experience with Indigenous adult instructional methodology is an asset.

Terms:Appointment to this position will require a formal criminal record check, the details of which may preclude anoffer of employment being finalized.
