This role will lead the engineering and design team accountable for access network support systems such 4G Evolved Packet Core, 5G Standalone Core, Broadband Network Gateway (BNG), Radius, DNS, Traffic Management, Vendor specific OSS systems, automation tools and the necessary supporting infrastructure.In this role you will be accountable to define annual work plans for your team execute them on time, within budget while in all cases minimizing customer impact. Managing lifecycles, product evolutions, new feature deployments, architectural changes as well as capacity augmentations are the primary function of the team. Additionally owning changes from planning through acceptance is critical to creating the necessary ownership and overlap with operations teams. In this role you will be Leading a team of subject matter experts who work closely with the Strategy, IP Design and Operations team counterparts. Network strategy will consult with Core services designers when defining multiyear architecture evolution plans. The core services design team will use the long-term plan referred to as the network blueprint complete with annual deliverables to align with the long-term targets. The Core services design team will define the appropriate executable plans and budget requirements to achieve the architecture milestones. Although major core node changes are less frequent than access network, after hour escalation is required with this role serving as a primary management point of contact in the process.Close collaboration will be required with the Network Strategy teams for product specifications and roadmaps, as well as with the IP Design, IP Operations and IT teams to ensure that customer services can be efficiently ordered, provisioned, operated and maintained.This position reports to the VP Design, Wireless NetworksKey responsibilities include:
