Muwin Estate Wines and Bulwark Craft Ciders is an owner-operated winery and cidery in New Ross, Nova Scotia that has been producing and selling award winning wines and ciders for over 10 years. We offer a wage and benefits package that is competitive within the industry.Key ResponsibilitiesThis position is accountable for the effective & efficient management of the warehouse operations at Muwin Estate Wines Ltd. This position is also responsible for maintaining equipment and machinery, assisting with production needs as required and delivery of products to some accounts. Also included is general facility management and the complete Shipping & Receiving of products.Skills RequiredAbility to operate equipment and machinery, operate forklift and carry a valid driver’s license. Must be flexible with a positive outlook, results oriented, analytical thinking with a mechanical and mathematical aptitude. Must be a team player with effective communication skills, detail oriented, self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail regarding paperwork. Required to lift heavy objects (40kg), walk or stand for most of the shift and wear steel toed shoes and proper PPE. Ability to work in an environment of variable temperatures. Must have positive behavior to lead by example and carry out required tasks with minimal supervision.AccountabilitiesCarry out product plan work orders in a safe, efficient manner to meet all quality specifications.Personally, accountable for:a) Effective utilization of equipment by maintaining a schedule of preventative maintenance.b) Open minded looking for opportunities to optimize production and flow.c) Effective working relationships with coworkers.d) Assist with other areas of the operation as required.Key result areas

  • Responsible for the efficient operation and management of the warehouse. Maintaining an organized and tidy environment,
  • Distribute products in an accurate and timely basis ensuring that customer service expectations are met or exceeded,
  • Ensure that all required products are provided in a timely manner to support Production,

  • Coordinate with production for the timely and effective maintenance of equipment,
  • Assist with Inventory Control to ensure proper inventory levels,
  • Assist in the development of sanitation, shipping/receiving/maintenance/production inventory protocols,
  • Ensure all pallets are properly wrapped and identified prior to shipping,
  • Replenish the retail store of stock based on work orders provided,
  • Maintain the trailers outside are organized and tidy,
  • Ensure the trailer containing the rice hulls is clean and tidy and that they are covered with a plastic sheet to eliminate them from becoming wet,
  • Make sure outside of the winery is kept clean and tidy; totes & barrels stacked, pallets organized, etc,
  • Remove cardboard and garbage out of the winery on a as needed basis,
  • Occasional product delivery to customers in the valley and Greater Halifax.
Job Type: Fixed term contractContract length: 3 monthsSalary: $15.00-$18.00 per hourSchedule:
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
